Post its release on 21st July, Barbie has amassed both critics’ nods and public approval. Furthermore, Rotten Tomatoes shows an 88% fans rating, and IMDB reflects a score of 7.4. Many had thought the movie would be too plastic and pink, superfluously tackling topics. However, Gerwig surprised fans with a nuanced approach to filmmaking and a star cast that is both talented and appealing. Moreover, the ultra-fit bodies of Barbie and Ken have become a hot topic of discussion, starting from Margot Robbie’s feet to Ryan Gosling’s abs.

Earlier, Celebrity trainer David Higgins spilled the beans on the perfect workout method to achieve the ripped abs of the melancholic Ken, who doesn’t seem to get anything right without Barbie. Bodybuilding enthusiasts can take the cue and incorporate the suggestions in their training manual.

David Higgins is the man behind the chiseled physique of Barbie’s leading actors, Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. In fact, he was responsible for training the entire cast. Furthermore, with a background in Pilates, Higgins credits abs exercises before doing other sets as the key to achieving six-pack abs. While traditional workout regimes suggest doing core exercises at the end, the trainer disagrees.

“Activating the core muscles at the start means they will fire up throughout the rest of the workout, which not only is important for injury prevention but also means better results,” stated Higgins. The Celebrity trainer even made the actors do a plank challenge which Robbie won. Higgins supplemented planks with a nine-minute circuit workout.

Furthermore, he explained, “It’s more about longevity and injury prevention rather than anything aesthetic, but the aesthetic value definitely comes because you’re targeting it so specifically and then integrating it into everything that we do.” Higgins warns against taking planks lightly. The plank is a specific exercise that requires a bit more control, stability, and posture, just to get the most to maximize your efforts. It’s a very easy exercise to get wrong,” added the celebrity trainer. Margot Robbie has always been physically fit. Hence, no wonder she won the plank challenge. She has some ingenious methods to keep healthy.

Barbie actors were very serious about their fitness

The Australian actor loves rollerblading, a skill she picked up during the picturization of I, Tonya. Her love for the sport also made her rollerblade in the Barbie movie. The Suicide Squad actress also keeps fit by swimming in shark-infested waters. Earlier, one of the Kens Simu Liu, eight years younger than Ryan Gosling, revealed their time spent in the gym. “Greta was very deliberate in what she wanted the Kens to do to bond, which was to gym together,” added the 34-year-old MCU lead.

Furthermore, he also confessed his failure to beat Gosling at gym training. He said, “No matter how early I went, he was always there. He always stayed later than me. So I really saw the discipline, and I really saw the Ken-ergy”. Thus, all the actors displayed extreme conviction in their training methods. Additionally, Coach Higgins’ guidance on core strength further helped them achieve the doll-like figure, which has now become an intrinsic part of popular culture. Have you watched Barbie yet?
