After a few weeks, Dorian Yates returned to his home country of England to captivate the audience in Nottingham. The bodybuilding fans were left in awe during The Shadow’s posing session on stage at the event. Paul Baxendale, another bodybuilder, recently shared a glimpse from the English Grand Prix, reminiscing about the memorable moment when the six-time Mr. Olympia champion showcased his posing skills.

Word of Dorian Yates’ second-place finish at the 1991 Mr. Olympia quickly spread, creating a buzz around the English Grand Prix. The crowd flocked to the event, eager to witness the mass monster’s presence on stage. Organized just a few weeks after the Mr. Olympia competition, the English Grand Prix provided an opportunity for The Shadow to showcase his monstrous physique and impeccable conditioning.

Maintaining the same enthusiasm, the English bodybuilder made his way to the stage and struck pose after pose to a cheering crowd. “He carried his ‘going to war’ game face and execution of his compulsory’s with complete 100% intensity,” Baxendale recalled in his latest post. The latter even shared the pictures from the contest that had captured Yates’s charm on the stage.

Yates’ well-conditioned physique and captivating posing session stole the attention of the crowd, who couldn’t help but be mesmerized by his presence on stage, along with the other bodybuilders. “The audience went crazy as he powered through pose after pose and stomped his foot down, as would become customary, in every pose to the rear showing his calf,” revealed Baxendale. Dorian Yates was one of the few bodybuilders who used the high-intensity training method to build enormous muscle mass. The technique worked for him as he became one of the earliest specimens of the mass monster era of bodybuilding. He recently shared a glimpse of his heaviest guest posing episode from the 1997 New England Championships.

He weighed beyond 300 lbs. “This was probably my heaviest guest pose ever, weighing 310lbs and little did I know of the challenges ahead!” he wrote in the post.
