Max Verstappen, the Dutch and Belgian racing driver, is regarded widely as one of the best F1 players of all time. He has not just significantly dominated the realms of his own sport, but has also been able to capture some attention from the bodybuilding community by being in shape, despite his priorities.
The 2x Formula One World Champion is in excellent shape and he has turned the gears towards fitness back in the lockdown, where he focused on making a huge comeback for the 2021 race. However, as Formula One returns from its yacht-life summer break, he revealed surprising feelings about working out that felt pretty relatable to his followers.

Max Verstappen, revealing the fact that he only stays in shape for everyone because he personally hates going to the gym or working out, says, “We don’t need a lot of weights”. In order to stay fit, he wakes up every morning and starts his day by walking to the balcony and doing all his stuff.
He adds, “Because of all the work we do in the car, we don’t really need a lot of weights – it’s not about bodybuilding, because we are weight-restricted so we can’t really build up a lot of muscle mass.” He has thus discovered a balance between doing cardio and then a little weight lifting. Verstappen focuses mainly on pulling off more repetitions in the same set rather than going heavy.

Max Verstappen has also incorporated a training regime that owes to the peaks in the heart rate. Because they have to ensure 6G forces while driving into a corner, the most important part to focus on keeping fit for a racing driver is his neck. Thus, Verstappen uses a device with elastic bands to exert force in all the possible areas in his neck region and that is the bare minimum he does to stay fit.
