Reigning Classic Physique Olympia champion Chris Bumstead and fiancee Courtney King have finally welcomed their baby girl into the world. The five-time Olympia champion took to social media to announce the news earlier. Courtney King was overdue by at least a week when she posted the last pregnancy update, and fans commented in anticipation. However, the anticipation is finally over.
CBum and King revealed that they named their baby girl “Bradley Shay Bumstead,“ in an Instagram post. The post also explained why CBum and King went silent on their social media for a few days earlier this week. “Born 4.22.24 – We love you baby girl, more than you’ll ever know,“ revealed the bodybuilding champion. So, Baby Bum is already five days old.
The 29-year-old bodybuilding champion uploaded several photographs of Bradley Shay Bumstead with the announcement post. The photographs were from the hospital bed, and the new parents cradled their baby girl in every image. However, Chris Bumstead didn’t pass up the opportunity to crack a joke while announcing the happy news.

“She didn’t let me go with Blastoise,“ lamented CBum in the comments section of his post. The Canadian bodybuilding icon posted a Q&A video with Courtney King on the last day of March. During the Q&A YouTube video, the couple sat on a couch and answered the most burning questions about their life that fans were dying to hear about. One question was about what they would name their baby.
Chris Bumstead revealed himself as a huge Pokemon fan when he asked the former Bikini Ms. Olympia if they could name their child Blastiose. Blastoise is one of the three icon starter Pokemon that accompanied Ash Ketchum (the protagonist) in the original Pokemon series. Despite the joke, Bumstead had to deal with some emotional baggage in these last few months.
Chris Bumstead left the past behind
The bodybuilding champion has been competing non-spot for the past seven years. Before becoming the champion, Bumstead was a two-time runner-up. However, throughout this time, the bodybuilder didn’t slow down to process some of his emotional baggage. So after winning his fifth title and with the baby on the way, CBum addressed those issues.

The bodybuilder took time off, healed the chronic issues from past injuries, traveled, and focused on his mental health. In a recent video by Raw Nutrition, Bumstead admitted to letting the stress of competition build for years. He also admitted to suppressing some mental health issues. However, for the past few months, Bumstead processed those emotions so that he could start his journey into fatherhood with a fresh and emotionally healthy perspective.
Chris Bumstead and Courtney King had been waiting for months for this moment. With the birth of their first child, CBum and King step into parenthood. Their next step is to get married, as they had planned, before finding out about their pregnancy.
