Before bodybuilding became his life, Yates was into Karate training as a kid and was inspired by Lee’s on-screen persona. “I was a big fan of Bruce Lee… you know he had that physique, he was shredded and could do all these amazing physical things,” he earlier said in an interview.
The latest Instagram post of the veteran bodybuilder reveals another crucial fact about his training regime that can be compared to Lee. “I got every single workout that I ever did from 1983 to 1997 written down. I wrote down every single workout and their notes underneath,” he revealed in the post.

Yates was a prudent organizer who kept note of 14 years of workouts, the number of reps, and weights. He then would check the progress every month and set realistic goals. So it was all very calculated and planned and strategized like a general, he added.
