The 8x Mr. Olympia winner Ronnie Coleman is rightly hailed as the King of bodybuilding. With his exceptional feats of strength and a ridiculously aesthetic physique, he has been dominating the realms of the sport and is considered to be among the most celebrated athletes in the sphere. The journey from being a dedicated police officer to finding his passion in fitness was not easy.

Despite battling several surgeries, Ronnie Coleman never gave up on his dreams, and well, that is what has brought him the name that he has earned today. Even at the age of 59, the legendary athlete manages to startle the fitness community. There have been several athletes who have helped boost his confidence, but the Sultan of Symmetry revealed the rather significant impact he has had on Coleman.

Flex Wheeler opens up on helping Ronnie Coleman

The official YouTube channel of Mind Pump Show shared a snippet from a podcast that featured the legendary Flex Wheeler. In the snippet, Wheeler was seen talking about the decades of dominance Ronnie Coleman has had over the years in bodybuilding.

He goes on to say how Ronnie Coleman and him have always been pretty great friends and he finds it commendable how someone can have such an unnaturally perfect physique without being on Performance Enhancing Drugs. However, he even feels a little remorse remembering the time he helped out Coleman, which resulted in him winning the show, at the cost of Flex Wheeler losing his spot.

He said, “So we sat down and I laid the whole game down and next year he started doing well. I remember, he actually beat me in the first competition ever and we’re over in Canada and he beat me. I’m like f***.” However, he has immense pride that ‘his boy’ won the show and he took the defeat happily. He even goes on to say how Ronnie Coleman shall continue reigning over the bodybuilding world.

Flex Wheeler shares his thoughts on Coleman dominating the sport

At the beginning of the snippet, Flex Wheeler talks about how he thinks that Ronnie Coleman shall always continue to be the King of bodybuilding and there is no athlete born good enough to snatch the title away from him. However, if that ever happens, he prays that he is around to see who it is.

Flex Wheeler says, “You know Ronnie Coleman, I think he has like maybe 2 million followers come on, he’s the king. Ronnie will always be the king. I hope I’m alive and hope it is safe to look at the person who beats his best physique ever. I mean I just don’t foresee that”.
