Arnold Schwarzenegger has focused on both nutrition and a person’s overall fitness which does not exclude their mental health either. Recently, the seven times Mr. Olympia and the all-time fitness icon, Schwarzenegger reflected how there is another underlying connection between depression and food.

Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed how some of the research and studies revealed that people who often eat ultra-processed food items usually have a larger tendency to feel anxiety and depression. He mentioned, “Ultra-processed foods are engineered to be more desirable by adding salt, sugar, and fat. They contain hydrogenated oils, chemical additives, artificial sweeteners, emulsifiers, and preservatives.”
According to a study, he said, “Another study of more than 11,000 people found that cognitive decline increased an additional 28 percent in people who consume more than 20 percent of their calories from ultra-processed foods.”
However, this does not mean that The Austrian Oak has asked for a complete ban on ultra-processed food. He revealed that if a person eats healthy, or has a balanced diet along with consuming these they should not worry about any consequences.
Arnold Schwarzenegger recently also expanded on the ‘Two-serving’ rules for improving heart conditions.

In another Arnold Pump issue, Schwarzenegger pointed out that although having as many as five servings of fruits and vegetables a day is optimum for the heart, people can still stick to only two servings and reduce the rate of heart disease. He stated, “Eating two servings (technically, it’s 2.5 servings) was associated with a 6 percent reduced risk of heart disease, an 18 percent reduced risk of stroke, and a 13 percent reduced risk of cardiovascular disease.”
