The bodybuilding icon was a Texas Sheriff before seriously thinking about competitive sports. His adventure at Mr. Olympia’s began through a chance encounter. Interestingly, the King’s diet differed from others, especially that of his arch-rival, four times Mr. Olympia.

Bodybuilding requires years of dedication and hard work. Moreover, the athletes follow a diet chart, measuring their calorie intake. However, the fitness icon followed very different food habits, unlike Jay Cutler, who dethroned Coleman in 2006.

Appearing in the Don’t Be Sour Podcast, the Hall of Famer shared intricate details of his bodybuilding journey. The host asked, “What is your diet like?” referring to the yesteryears. Coleman replied, “Kentucky fried chicken.” The response may sound shocking to many. However, at that time, Coleman was working in the police force. Hence, his eating patterns reflected the same. From 1998 to 2003, the King fought crime in Texas, simultaneously lifting Sandow trophies. His approach differed from Jay Cutler, his on-stage nemesis.

 The 26 IFBB Pro title holder shared a competitive chemistry with the Comeback Kid responsible for ending his winning streak. Before performing the unthinkable, Cutler worked behind the scenes and came second to Coleman many times. Hell, bent on lifting the Sandow trophy, the 4x Mr. Olympia showed tremendous discipline, even staying away from the $5,400,000,000 Fast-Food Chain.

Jay Cutler: The bodybuilding beast who ate for fuel, not flavor

In an archived video shared by @musclemindmedia, the bodybuilding beast shared his rigor for the sport. Diet was a means to an end for Cutler.I just eat for fuel,” remarked the mass monster. Cutler further added, “I eat to get big. I don’t care what it tastes like.” Moreover, he had a shocking comment about fried food.

“I’ve never tried Kentucky Fried Chicken. So, I don’t know what it tastes like,” stated the CEO of Cutler Nutrition. Additionally, the fitness icon revealed his intentions of never trying KFC scared of the results. “I’m afraid I like it,” confessed the four-time Olympia champion.

In a day and age where fast food has become a necessity, such words instill inspiration in most. Moreover, Ronnie Coleman eventually changed his diet when he entered the bodybuilding arena. Hence, the wonders of these gentlemen were not one-day affair, but years of sacrifice to be the best.
