Taking to the Arnold’s Pump Club, Schwarzenegger shed light on a recent review of 148 studies that support the claim, revealing a powerful connection between robust social connections and a longer life. In a section titled, “How to Add 7 Years To Your Life,” he wrote how researchers found that individuals with solid social relationships live longer.
So, instead of investing in pricey pills and high-tech solutions, Arnie’s life hack is refreshingly simple: “Longevity supplements get all the buzz, but more time in the friend zone is what you need if you want to live longer. A review of 148 studies found that people with strong social relationships are associated with living up to 7 years longer.” The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s articulation on this matter emphasized that social connection with others can help with several issues, including improving your ability to recover from stress, anxiety, and depression. Focusing on social connections also contributes to better sleep, well-being, and quality of life.
Schwarzenegger also talked about how one need not always opt for physical interaction, but could simply talk to their loved ones through “Call or text,” Isn’t that easy? Besides overall longevity, the crusader of a healthier lifestyle earlier shared his insights on how to prevent issues like dementia.
The importance of Vitamin D in preventing dementia
In a previous edition of his newsletter, Arnie highlighted a study of over twelve thousand people, revealing that those with higher Vitamin D levels were 40 percent less likely to develop dementia. According to new research, Vitamin D supplements are especially good for women, reducing their risk by 49 percent, compared to 26 percent for men.

Moreover, for those with the APOE4 gene linked to dementia, taking Vitamin D cuts the risk by thirty-three percent. Arnie emphasizes the importance of staying active, as studies show non-supplement users are more likely to face dementia.
