Bodybuilding icon and seven-time champion Phil Heath attended the 2023 Mr. Olympia. While the former champion met fans and among the most famous personalities at Olympia weekend, he also had a job. The former champion was also part of the commentary team and commentated on the contest for those watching at home. After the event wrapped up, Heath shared his thoughts on the 2023 Mr. Olympia.

The bodybuilding icon took to social media to share his experience. The 43-year-old gave his thoughts in a video on Instagram and also wrote additional insights about the event in the caption. Not only did the former champion have a “blast” at the 59th Mr. Olympia, but explained why everyone should experience a “live Mr. Olympia” event at least once in their lives.

“What a weekend it has been here in Orlando, Florida,” Health said in the video and wrote in the caption. Despite not competing for years, the bodybuilding icon maintains a great physique and lives a disciplined life. However, Phil Heath confessed to letting loose after the event and staying up late. The 43-year-old felt grateful to be part of an event, “witnessing history being made with each division.”

The fierce competition onstage reminded him of his competitive bodybuilding days. “So many thoughts run through my mind about the heat of competition,” he wrote. Seeing the champions leave it all on the stage provided the former Mr. Olympia with “a feeling of satisfaction. “It assured him that the “bodybuilding community is thriving with people who are truly passionate about their body of work,” explained Heath.  

The experience compelled him to urge fans to attend future Mr. Olympia events. “You’re honestly missing out on some incredible moments which will imprint positivity into your cells like no other,” Heath told fans. The 2023 MR. Olympia also inspired Phil Heath.

Besides enjoying the four-day-long celebration of bodybuilding, the seven-time champion also felt inspired to work harder. “Seeing everyone so focused, so determined makes me smile,” explained the champion bodybuilder. While Phil Heath doesn’t compete, he still works out as if preparing for an upcoming bodybuilding competition.

Heath wrote that he’ll “continue to smile my a** into the gym today, motivated to uphold even greater standards, physically, mentally and emotionally.” While Phil Heath’s days of competing on stage might be behind him, this year’s Olympia injected him with fresh inspiration to keep doing what he loves.
