Performing more deadlifts can help you touch your toes, the Austrian Oak wrote in the newsletter. Citing research, Schwarzenegger also stated that “strength training led to a significant increase in range of motion and flexibility, and — in some cases — the results were as good as or better than traditional stretching.”
Adding to his tip, the Terminator star also revealed that these improvements in the range of motion happen as muscle strength is increased at the end ranges of motion. In the newsletter, Arnie also explained that such resistance training also leads to stronger muscles and flexible tissues. The Governator further disclosed who would gain the major benefits from following this tip.

Schwarzenegger also disclosed the fact that it was, in fact, beginners who saw more range of motion improvements from strength training. Therefore, it did not matter if you were super strong or were a new entrant into the fitness world, it is imperative that you focus on strength training.
The legend also added a disclaimer to his tip, stating that “all types of resistance training didn’t lead to better flexibility.” Arnie also touched upon the love for calisthenics that most fitness enthusiasts had.
