His HIT method fetched him six Mr. Olympia titles and unparalleled fame worldwide. The 61-year-old often shares his stories of grit and determination during his prime, with his social media family.

In his latest post, the English bodybuilding icon confessed his attitude toward life, which made him work harder to attain the glory that few can achieve.

The Shadow lived an inspirational life and one of the first bodybuilders to introduce the audience to the taste of a mass monster. To enhance extreme muscle growth, Yates trained in seclusion at the Temple Gym in Birmingham while giving enough rest for recovery. He would never be in the limelight while prepping for Mr. Olympia and would turn up at the event, sending chills down the spine of spectators and his rivals with a monster physique.

Yates recently revealed the attitude that fetched him great heights in bodybuilding. “From the start of my bodybuilding career back in 1983, all the way until 1997, I was never comfortable in my situation,” he stated in his post. The post detailed how he left home at 16 without formal education and revealed he did multiple jobs for sustenance.

Spilling beans on his success, the 6x Mr. Olympia confessed, “I never settled, always strived for more.” Despite being a Mr. Olympia multiple times, Yates admitted that he pushed himself beyond boundaries for the next year. “You can’t grow if you’re comfortable,” he said in his post. The post is coupled with a clip of his prime period, which reflects him training in the gym and posing on the stage. “It’s f*****g hard work,” he reiterates in the clip. Earlier, the bodybuilding icon shared how he improved his training routine, over the years.

Dorian Yates prioritized planning to achieve his desired physique to build his bodybuilding dream. The Shadow once shared how he journaled every minute detail of his gym routine during his prime, which helped him improve over the years.

I got every single workout that I ever did from 1983 to 1997 written down. I wrote down every single workout and their notes underneath,” he mentioned in an old post. By keeping his goals realistic and achievable he hit the gym for 14 years aiming for his desired lift that day. He also added that without proper planning and direction, one couldn’t go far in achieving their goals.
