IFBB Pro Milos Sarcev is a reputed name in the realm of bodybuilding. Despite never winning an Olympia title himself, he has coached some very renowned names as well and helped them reach the pinnacle of the sport. Guiding multiple now-renowned athletes like Samson Dauda to multiple trophies, Sarcev really enjoyed a fulfilling career both as an athlete and as a coach.

Sarcev recently shared some insight about his time as a professional bodybuilder on the Dennis James-hosted Muscle and Fitness podcast and explained the differences between the prestigious Night of the Champions and the Arnold Classic.

Milos Sarcev’s shocking revelation

Organized by promoter Wayne DeMilia, Night of the Champions, or ‘NOC’ was a bodybuilding competition that showcased some extraordinary physiques back in the day. Reputed names like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Dorian Yates have previously competed in the show as well. Amidst many other topics, Milos Sarcev revealed during the podcast that in his entire career, he has stepped on the ‘NOC’ stage eleven times.

Revealing the difference between the Arnold Classic and Night of the Champions, Sarcev stated, “I did 11 times, Night of the Champions…Arnold Classic was stacked every year like back in the 90s. Oh my god. It was a miniature Olympia, and then you go to…Night of the Champions, and that’s where usually newcomers…they want to prove themselves, and that was 30-40 people.”

Despite his retirement from the sport many years ago, Milos still has a lot of bodybuilding left in him. He often participates in podcasts and interviews and talks about his golden days as a bodybuilder. However, things were not always smooth for Sarcev. He once revealed during an interview with Jay Cutler about his near-death experience.

Sarcev discloses a near-fatal incident

Looking back in time, Sarcev admitted using Synthol, which is an oil-like substance that bodybuilders often inject into their muscles. He educated the audience by stating that the compound is extremely harmful and can even lead to death and heart failure.

The legendary coach revealed that he injected Synthol into his arms. The result was “congestive heart failure and this ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome),” revealed the retired Serbian bodybuilder. “They [doctors] told me I have less than 24 hours to live, you know, so it was very serious,” said Sarcev.
