The mass monster took to social media to describe his leg day workout regime. The 61-YO bodybuilder talks about old-fashioned hard work. Furthermore, he mentions the obstacles that one needs to face to become the best.

The mass monster orates about his leg day, by penning down that his leg workouts commence the night before usually because it’s a mental workout before it is a physical one. Dorian pens in his Instagram post, This was a mental workout before a physical one. I knew what would be required and to be honest, just thinking about training legs was a scary thought.” It is generally a known fact among fitness aficionados that leg workouts are the most painful ones. 

Moreover, he states that going to bed the night before his leg workout, is the scariest yet exciting thought by quoting, “I knew the intensity levels would be through the roof, the weights involved felt like an ungodly amount, two huge compound lifts would be involved and failure and beyond was on the horizon too.” Dorian Yates talks about the pre-workout requisites, a stack of caffeine and ephedrine, which he takes to enhance performance and endurance on a leg workout day.

Dorian further tells about the warm-up session before he commences leg workout practice for a short mental preparation, which includes a few minutes on the stationary bike, and some time spent on dynamic stretching. Then, the mass monster adds, “My intensity levels would rub onto my training partners and together with the sound of Guns n Roses Appetite for Destruction, an atmosphere that generated unparalleled levels of ferocity throughout the building was created.”

Yates thinks that controlled aggression, which was violent to a certain degree is important to achieve fitness goals. However, it’s of utmost importance to take a count of each rep and carry a water bottle, but instead of drinking it, spitting it out would be a better option. Due to the fact that drinking a lot of water during leg training is harmful because of the high level of intensity. Yates retired in 1997 because of his tricep surgery. The mass monster decided to never appear on stage since then, not even for pep talks or poses to inspire young bodybuilders.

Yates’s intense workout didn’t stop even after his tricep surgery 

Earlier, the Shadow posted a picture in which his left arm was in bandages, elaborating to the fans his rationale behind leaving his favorite sport. Dorian quoted, “Here’s a couple of shots from late 1997, after my tricep surgery,” the 90% detachment of his tricep tendons cost him his entire bodybuilding career. Later, the strong-willed bodybuilder said, “I never appeared onstage again, not even for guest posing. It was all or nothing!”

Nevertheless, after the soul-stirring accident, Dorian didn’t stop and he worked out rigorously but never appeared on stage again.
