After the historic reign of eight-time Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman, his on-stage rival Jay Cutler weaved a legendary, albeit shorter, legacy. However, with Cutler’s final Olympia win in 2010, the last of the 90s bodybuilding icons stepped out of the spotlight. That’s when Phil Heath shined. After defeating Cutler in 2011, Heath became Mr. Olympia and held the title for seven years. An icon in his own right, The Gift represented a new generation of bodybuilders and even shared an epic rivalry with Kai Greene.

Now, the memorable career of the man who equaled Arnold Schwarzenegger in a number of Olympia title wins has been chronicled on film. Earlier, the former Mr. Olympia took to Instagram to make the surprise announcement for his four million followers.

A long time coming

However, the documentary didn’t release commercially to the public. According to the 43-year-old, that’s about to change. In the caption of his post, The Gift also teased its imminent release. “Big news also coming on its future release! Congrats to the whole team!” Harvey wrote in his original caption, which Heath reposted.

Interestingly, Phil Heath’s announcement comes on the heels of a similar announcement by the legendary Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Following in the footsteps of Arnold Schwarzenegger?

Recently, one of Heath’s idols, and the first person to win seven Mr. Olympia titles, Arnold Schwarzenegger, announced his documentary. The bodybuilding legend who’s all set to make his TV show debut with FUBAR, announced that his documentary will release on Netflix on June 9, 2023.
