IFBB pro, Kevin Levrone seems to have a particular affinity towards the Mr. Olympia event of 2000. He previously shared clips from the competition, asking fans about their insights. Besides that, there’s also an ongoing debate in the current generation of bodybuilding athletes; a comparison, with the icons of the past. The popular opinion suggests that the competitors of the past sustained a more natural, and symmetrical build. Thus, both these aspects were once again brought to center stage by the former pro, as a result of his recent Instagram post. 

The athlete shared a resurfaced video from the final event of Mr. Olympia 2000 featuring some of the greatest athletes of that time. Therefore, the bodybuilding world couldn’t help but be awestruck by the degree of talent on that stage, sharing some bold insights under the post. 

Kevin Levrone sparks throwback memories

As per the Instagram post shared on Thursday, the 58-year-old pro spent the day reminiscing about the days bygone and shared how that millennial year event, was a complete war zone. “Top 6 Mr. Olympia 2000 was a dog fight,” he chimed in. 

The video featured the 2000 winner and eight-time Mr. Olympia, Ronnie Coleman in the center flexing his beast-like build. Followed by Levrone himself, Flex Wheeler, Shawn Ray, Nasser El Sonbaty, Lee Priest, and Markus Ruehl. In relation to the Hall of Famer’s caption, Baha Men’s classic song, Who Let the Dogs Out played in the background.

Even though posing side-by-side, the pros took turns to steal the spotlight with their finesse. Coleman and Levron stood adjacent, and there was a point when he even smacked the champion’s abs sportingly. Hence, the momentous minute is treasured by the entire community, and the comments are proof.

In less than a day, the post gathered over 226k views. Hailing them as the greatest batch, one fan wrote, “Best line in history 💯” whereas another added to the debate between the past and present, and stated, “All 6 are way better than what’s out there now.” Several of the fans cherished the iconic moment in the comments with a range of insights, some recalling the scenario while others comparing it to the past. 

On another note, a comment opined that that moment could’ve been the foremost instance when it could be a full tie between the athletes because each and every one on that stage deserved it. “Should’ve been the first time there was a tie in bodybuilding history cus everyone on that stage was at 110% stacked!!!!!” it read. Other comments were, “Any of them could be Mr. O today” and “Legends every one of you 🔝🥇🏅”

Even though The King took home the title that year, it is marked as one of the greatest times in Mr. Olympia’s history due to the iconic talents on stage, and it’s hard to disagree.
