Even at 76, Arnold Schwarzenegger remains the most followed bodybuilder on the planet decades after his prime. However, in his last post, the bodybuilding legend gave his fans a glimpse of how his physique looked in the Golden Era. The seven-time Mr. Olympia shared a series of black-and-white images that trigger nostalgia and awe in fans of classic bodybuilding.

Arnold Schwarzenegger shared rare images of himself working in sunny California’s famous Gold’s Gym. There were photographs of Arnie doing front-lateral raises, overhead presses, and even pull-ups. However, the 76-year-old didn’t just wear the glasses because he looked cool working out with sunglasses on.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and all the Golden Era legends who trained at Gold’s Gym often trained on Muscle Beach under the sun. That’s because they utilized sun tanning to give themselves a natural tan. This practice further enhanced the effect of artificial tanning used on the bodybuilding stage.

Schwarzenegger once revealed that he preferred sun tanning because he could get an equal tan on every body part. “When you did your chin-ups, your presses, your curls, you got the tan everywhere,” said the Austrian OakIn fact, the bodybuilder took it a step further and would take a dunk in the ocean between sets to intensify the tan when he needed it.

However, most fans didn’t need to know any of it to be mind blown by the bodybuilding icon’s prime, Olympia-winning physique.

One fan, who has experience training outdoors, said, “Sunshine and pull-ups are very good company.”

The 76-year-old even inspired former Mr. Universe Mike O’Hearn to do the same. “This tomorrow @jeff.jodway @douglasfruchey,” O’Hearn wrote and tagged his training partners. Thankfully for O’Hearn, he also trains at Golds Gym.

However, one fan couldn’t help but think how many more majestic images Arnie has. “Forever mad that you have all these HD never-before-seen photos in the archives that you haven’t shared with the world yet,” said the fan.
