Arnold Schwarzenegger is simply not a bodybuilding celebrity but has been a political spokesperson as the former Governor of California as well. Yet, if one looks back on the list of legal accusations that had been made against him, there are more than a few. Although some of the legal issues and lawsuits he had dealt with are somewhat minimal and can be considered light crimes, some of the others raise the eyebrows of most people.
The winner of 7 Mr. Olympia titles and 5 Mr. Universe hasn’t nearly broken as many rules as his movie characters but needless to say, there have been more than a few accusations.

Only last year in February, The Austrian Oak allegedly hit a woman riding a bicycle. According to some sources, Schwarzenegger was being held accountable by Joanne Flickinger for her accident in West Los Angeles. She filed a lawsuit against the former bodybuilder claiming that he had hit her with his SUV and was rash driving. She claimed he rode, “with excessive speed and failed to keep a proper lookout.” However, Schwarzenegger had reportedly been extremely cooperative with the officers and had also taken Joanne Flickinger’s bike carrying in the back of his car for repair.
In 2022, Schwarzenegger also faced difficulties because of a lawsuit against him following the four-car accident at Sunset Boulevard and Allenford Avenue, which he was a part of. Although it was not confirmed whether it had been Arnold Schwarzenegger who had been driving the car or was there as a passenger, the injured victim, Cheryl Augustine had filed a lawsuit against him, according to ‘The Blast’ and ‘Radar Online. She had also declared how she was left permanently disabled because of the accident.
In both cases, Schwarzenegger was not found to have any traces of alcohol or dr*gs while driving. However, at times, the former bodybuilder had to pay a huge amount of money or simply a selfie for his law-breaking actions.
Arnold Schwarzenegger once paid $4.5 Million after breaking the law
In January 2004, Schwarzenegger was caught withdrawing a massive amount of loan of $4.5 Million for his election campaign. According to NBC News, “The loan violated a law restricting candidates from accepting personal loans of more than $100,000 for their campaigns”. However, Arnold Schwarzenegger did promise to pay it back by himself. He stated, “The four-and-a-half million we got loaned from the bank, I always intended to pay that back myself, so it was a great decision.”
Another time when Schwarzenegger was caught on a bicycle in Munich Station, he got a warning that it was off-limits to ride a bicycle within the station. However, the former Governor of California instantly accepted the warning. That said, he had to pay a minimal charge for one selfie with the officer which Schwarzenegger happily obliged to.
Munich had seen another recent law-breaking on the Austrian Oak’s part. The bodybuilder was detained at the airport because of a luxury watch.

The former bodybuilder was flying with his custom-made luxury watch from the Swiss brand Audemars Piguet worth €26,000. Although he intended to get the watch from his private collection auctioned off before his World Climate Summit, Schwarzenegger was reminded that it is considered important and he should have mentioned the watch due to required taxation. It was declared, “If the goods remain in the EU, you have to declare them through customs. This applies to everyone, whether their name is Schwarzenegger or Müller, Meier.”
Arnold Schwarzenegger was once questioned about whether his filling a pothole should be considered an official law-breaking record. In the contest, the Austrian Oak stated, how his neighborhood was suffering because the pothole was, “scre*ing up cars and bicycles for weeks.” Then he further added, “I always say, let’s not complain, let’s do something about it. Here you go,” Although the issue had not been specified to have been cleared, the bodybuilder had other minor and some major legal issues to deal with.
