The resting period after a competition is crucial so that the body can gain back energy and maintain the jacked muscles. Chris Bumstead is someone who also understands the importance of rest and taking a break. The four-time?Mr. Olympia?classic physique winner is as calm as a cucumber and has a good balance between his personal and professional lives.

Hany Rambod, who is coaching Bumstead for the fifth Olympia, recently sat down with him for a podcast and asked him several questions about his current life. When it came to the idea of resting and taking a break, Bumstead had a unique action that he took during his break time after the competition.

In the podcast interview, they talked about how Bumstead would never get into a fight with an MMA fighter despite having a brawl at a bar when he was young. They also talked about his retirement plans and his idea of taking a break after a competition. Rambod asked,?“Favourite way to release stress after a competition?”?With the usual calm demeanor, Bumstead answered,?“I guess just separate from bodybuilding. You know me, I almost stopped training, or at least train differently, a lot lighter.”

The bodybuilder, who never watches any bodybuilding shows or recaps, then disclosed his way of enjoying himself after he won a competition. He talked about enjoying the location with his family; he said, “I just enjoy it with my family. I think spending time with my family, not talking about bodybuilding and competing all the time, just separating from it really helps me reset my life.”

CBum finally disclosed his favorite destination, saying,?“Every year in January, we gotta go to the Swiss Alps; don?t come find me there…I love going snowboarding I feel like that’s what I grew up.”?So if you ever go to the Swiss Alps during January or February, you might just be able to meet the legendary bodybuilder. He also revealed that he loves eating anything that is baked by his fianc?e, Courtney King. Also, he absolutely loves snowboarding. Even if he has a sweet tooth during his break, Bumstead has a secret diet plan that helps him win the Olympia every time.

In the same Q&A with?Rambod, Bumstead talked about how?he controls his cravings for his favorite food during training. Bumstead was candid about it and replied,?“I mean, there?s literally no secret to it. I think the fact that I care about my health and eat so healthy all year makes me crave less s**t.

CBum also reflected on the self-discipline and self-control that a person needs if they want to be in the fitness industry. He remarked,?“So I just want more food, and I mean, it?s just discipline.”?He also stated,?“The more you do it, the more you realize how resilient you are. And if you?re feeling hungry, you?re like you need f***** cheat or something, you don?t. And you learn that over the years.”
