Arnold Schwarzenegger and Ronnie Coleman are one of the biggest legends in the sport of bodybuilding. Despite being from a different era and not competing against each other ever, the duo respects each other and continues to motivate countless lifters and aspiring bodybuilders. Recently, Coleman and Schwarzenegger even worked out together at the Gold’s Gym where they trained shoulder and arms together. 

Apart from calling Schwarzenegger the “greatest training partner,” Coleman also once stated that he believes ‘The Austrian Oak’ is the greatest bodybuilder to ever live. Let’s take a quick look at the reason behind this, according to Coleman. 

Why does Coleman think of Arnold as the best bodybuilder ever?

Central to Ronnie’s appreciation is the insane chest development that Schwarzenegger had during his prime years. Arnold did actually have the biggest chest in the entire lineup when he used to compete. Expressing his disbelief over the muscle mass that he possessed at the time, keeping in mind the limited resources available in the 70s, Coleman pointed out that Schwarzenegger could have been bigger than Ronnie too if he had every resource available. 

“Arnold would have been by far the best bodybuilder ever…look at that shape, look at that chest. Nobody got that even to date. He got the biggest chest ever. If he had our stuff, I would look like a little boy standing next to him,” Ronnie stated. 

Coleman believes Schwarzenegger to be the greatest training partner too

During his recent visit to California, Ronnie Coleman worked out with Arnold at the ‘Mecca of bodybuilding.’ The duo, despite their age, pushed each other to their limits and did an intense training session. During the session, Coleman complimented Schwarzenegger to be the greatest training partner. Remembering his training partner from back in the day, Schwarzenegger stated, “Franco is smiling down from heaven, and he is saying, ‘Finally! Arnold found a good replacement for me,'” he told Coleman.

To this, ‘The King’ said, “Let’s show Franco how it’s done,” as Arnie began his set. “I know Franco was looking down on @ronniecoleman8 pushing me today and smiling,” Arnie wrote in the caption of his Instagram post.
