Chris Bumstead hasn’t just gained popularity in the fitness world just because of the final portrayal of his shredded physique. In fact, even CBum’s training methods are almost always highly appreciated by the community and several bodybuilding experts within the fitness industry. As Dr. Mike Israetel saw the bodybuilder’s upper body training, he had some honest thoughts to share on it.

Dr. Mike Israetel has a PhD in sports physiology and he understands what exercise techniques can actually produce results. And although he liked most of the 5x Mr. Olympia in Classic Physique, Chris Bumstead’s technique, including his one-arm rows, Israetel still had some minor improvements to suggest.

Istraetel shared that Chris Bumstead usually has a pretty good approach to his fitness techniques, however, he can still improve on certain aspects. Isratel’s suggestion mainly centred on the five-time Classic Physique Olympia winner’s range of motion. “I would like to see Chris do a little bit more of a full range of motion, especially on that eccentric by a small margin he was doing very well I would love for him to control his descent more,” Dr. Mike Israetel said.

The exercise scientist further suggested that if he bends a little more, Bumstead might actually get better results. “I would love for him to bend over further on his bent rows and potentially choose machines that are better at accentuating that deep stretch and that contraction but honestly, we don’t often have a choice of all the machines in the world that are perfect,” Israetel explained.

Following his suggestion, Dr. Mike Israetel also revealed his rating for Chris Bumstead’s workouts.

Almost pleased with Bumstead’s approach to his fitness, Dr. Mike Israetel started announcing his rating for Bumstead’s back training as well as his chest and tricep training. He stated, “I would rate his back training as you know 8.5 out of 10 and I would also rate his chest and tricep training at roughly 8.5 out of 10.”

Moreover, Mike Israetel also revealed that Bumstead’s routines were good enough for him to have won him 5 Mr. Olympia titles. However, any other fitness enthusiasts can also take up the routine while also focusing on the suggestions made by Mike Israetel. “Chris is doing a great job you can take these lessons and do a superlative job because your genetics probably aren’t as good as his. You will see the kind of growth that’s very meaningful to you,” he said.
