Even when the legendary bodybuilder collaborates with merchandise, he displays his quintessential style. “Wearing these bad boys just to get a little extra sweat in there, can never sweat enough, that’s how I roll,” added Coleman. The King’s eagerness to pursue wellness is a lesson for fitness enthusiasts. Shockingly, the herculean bodybuilder, known for his size and conditioning, he had thirteen surgeries to treat his herniated disc and lower back injuries since his heydays.
However, his ordeal did not end there, as the King had to undergo further surgeries in 2018 and 2019. Currently, the former IFBB pro needs crutches to walk. Coleman does not let his injury define his journey on the fitness circuit. Such is his love for bodybuilding that even though he struggles to walk without aid, Coleman visits the gym regularly. Recently, in an interview with Joe Rogan, Coleman revealed the struggle and discipline he went through to achieve the pinnacle of success.

At 5 feet 11 inches, the powerful athlete exhibited extreme muscle conditioning, size, and vascularity. In his prime, Coleman was the strongest athlete to grace the competitive stage. Additionally, his back and lower body were his defining characteristics. However, the journey was full of trials and tribulations. Furthermore, defending the title for eight long years when the scale of the sport increased manifold during the mass monster era was no easy feat.
Highlighting his struggles, Coleman told Joe Rogan, “You know that didn’t happen overnight. I put on about five pounds of muscle, between five and ten pounds of muscle a year, and that came from all that you know, that heavy lifting, a lot of eating, a lot of eating.” Witnessing the undying spirit of the King toward his calling is an inspiration for all athletes.
