When it comes to powerlifting, there are a set of rules and regulations that must be followed in order to have an estimation of your PR. At times, when they are not followed, the PR goes in vain. One such example was the recently posted video of the bodybuilding beast pulling off his bench press PR.

Although most of his fans appreciated and praised his newly made personal record, there was a bit of a bashing too. To begin with, the powerlifter is seen pulling off the reps as if he has somewhere to run to. It is important that with a good muscle-mind connection, the exercises are implemented to have good conditioning of the preferred body part. However, Larry Wheels was seen pulling off the reps at a very high pace, which is the wrong way of doing the exercise. Out of the 22 reps pulled out by Wheels, only 3 were full reps. He pushed the rod only halfway in the air, which is considered to be a half rep. Although his effort was at the max level, the people in the fitness world frowned upon it. A lot of them called it ego-lifting too. His fans had a lot to say about his PR after this video was posted.

Fans get furious at the half-reps!

Despite receiving a lot of appreciation, some of his fans deemed his PR effort as null because of the half-reps. One of them, comparing his own PR said, “0 reps were done (my max is 225lb)”. While another one pointed out to his half reps and said, “Half reps dnt count”. Another one expressing the same emotion said, “Zero…zero…zero…zero…stop teaching your inexperienced fans improper technique. ONLY full reps count. 💯” Taking to his reputation of being a fitness influencer and influencing people on the right way, one of them says, “Yeah but I not all full reps come on now Dude your not setting a good example😂”.
