Arnold’s Ex-Wife Maria Shriver Enjoys Cambodian Adventure With Children, Visits Ancient Temple

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s family has stayed close-knit through thick and thin. From raising their children out of the spotlight to a rocky divorce, the Schwarzeneggers have always made time for one another. Even today, when all of Mari Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s children have their separate careers, they make time for family. However, this time, it was more than a family gathering.

Maria Shriver, eldest son Patrick, youngest son Christopher, and daughter Christian Schwarzenegger took a trip to the Southeast Asian country of Cambodia. Although Christopher set his Instagram profile to private, and Christina doesn’t even have social media, their brother is quite active on Instagram. Patrick Schwarzenegger shared two stories with his mother and siblings.

The 30-year-old actor snapped a picture alongside Maria Shriver and his siblings with Angkor Wat in the backdrop. The massive ancient temple built by the Khmer Empire is Cambodia’s most famous landmark. “Angkor is one of the most important archaeological sites in South-East Asia. Stretching over some 400 km2,” according to UNESCO.

The massive temple complex contains the Angkor Archaeological Park, with magnificent and well-preserved remains of Angkor Wat, Bayon Temple at Angkor Thom, and innumerable cultures. Patrick Schwarzenegger also shared another picture with Maria Shriver and his brother. The 66-year-old and her sons wore matching elephant-printed pants with white t-shirts.

Maria Shriver shared the second photograph on her Instagram story. Neither Patrick Schwarzenegger nor his Emmy Award-winning mother disclosed any further details about their trip. However, we can take an educated guess as to why they visited Cambodia.

Maria Shriver’s eldest son is filming in Thailand

Patrick Schwarzenegger joined the cast of the Golden Globe-winning show The White Lotus earlier this year. Maria Shriver and Katherine Schwarzenegger celebrated the announcement on Instagram. Later, the official The White Lotus social media handles announced that season three will be set in Thailand. Cambodia is Thailand’s neighbor.

Angkor Wat is within 250 miles (400km) of Thailand’s capital Bangkok. So, it’s safe to assume that Patrick Schwarzenegger found time for the trip between filming for the show. Earlier, his fiancée, Abby Champion, also visited him in Thailand. The couple shared many photos from their getaway. Only Katherine and Arnold Schwarzenegger haven’t visited the 30-year-old yet.

Maria Shriver and her children share a close bond. So, the Schwarzeneggers always seem to find time for one another no matter how busy their lives become.
