The combo had created magic in theatres for their comedy spy-thriller True Lies, which also has Tom Arnold. The duo, Arnold and Schwarzenegger, impressed movie lovers with their chemistry on-screen, which soon transformed into off-screen friendship.
Tom Arnold, who recently featured in Schwarzenegger’s FUBAR, revealed that he suffered a stroke and spilled beans on his impressive weight loss journey in the Bertcast with host Bert Kreischer.

Obesity has been a prime concern in today’s generation, given the sedentary lifestyle and fast-food dependence. But Arnold Schwarzenegger always led a fit life, and hitting the gym is a routine for the 76-year-old. However, it isn’t the same with his True Lies co-star Tom Arnold. The 64-year-old confessed to his health condition in a recent podcast.
In the Bertcast podcast, Bert Kreischer asked the comedy actor, “I heard you had a stroke?” To which Arnold asserted, “I did!” He further added about his overweight and said, “I lost a lot of weight which I should have before.” Further adding the stats, he said, “I weigh about 215 probably. I weighed over 300 before.”

Tom Arnold made a shocking revelation, “I have lost 100lbs three times,” which left Kreischer laughing. However, the buddy of Schwarzenegger is back on the fitness track as he shared a picture of his cycle ride with the 7x Mr. Olympia champion. Also, it was at Schwarzenegger’s home, Tom Arnold met his future fitness trainer.
Near Death experience led the 64-year-old towards a lifestyle change
The Bar Hopping actor experienced a near-fatal stroke in 2022, and the doctors confirmed an ischemic attack that had blocked blood to a part of the brain. Fearing for his two children, the single father decided to mend his ways by opting for a healthy lifestyle. But his fitness journey was mentored by trainer Charles D’Angelo who Arnold met at The Terminator’s home.
With D’Angelo, Arnold trained for nine months, which included workouts such as elliptical training, cardio, and a recumbent bike. In the latest podcast, he also confirmed undergoing surgery for the excess skin after the weight loss. Describing his journey toward health, Arnold once confessed, “renewed sense of awareness, accountability, and affirmation.”
