There are countless car enthusiasts around the world. However, few have loved a car enough to play an active part in its production. Arnold Schwarzenegger succeeded in doing just that in 1992. After seeing a Humvee up close for the first time while filminig Kindergarten Cop (1990), Arnie sat with AM General and convinced them to make a civilian version of the military Humvee. Two years later, Schwarzenegger got his wish as he became the first owner of the first Hummer.?

The seven-time Mr. Olympia endorsed the car, and it became a massive hit. While the massive Hummer H1 didn’t sell like hotcakes, it still became a legendary vehicle. In fact, the Hummer became so iconic that Sheikh Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan of Dubai made the ultimate version of the Hummer. A replica of the first Hummer. It makes Arnie’s SUV look like a toy.

Sheikh Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan a.k.a Rainbow Sheikh is a car enthusiast like no other. The royal with $20 billion in net worth, has thousands of cars in his collection. However, his unique taste lies in super-sizing some of his favorite cars. However, probably the largest car in his collection is a monstrous replica of the Hummer H1.

While the bodybuilding icon became the owner of the first Hummer H1, the Sheikh owns the most gigantic one. The Sheikh’s Hummer H1 also carries the moniker of X3 in its title. The X3 implies that the gigantic Hummer H1 replica is three times the size of the original. The massive vehicle is 46 feet long, 21.6 feet tall, and 19 feet wide.

Twitter user Massimo posted about the fully drivable replica yesterday. In the video, the massive Hummer could be seen driving on the highway with two cars as an escort. The Hummer X3 has two stories. The first floor houses a functional bathroom, a kitchen sink, and a giant engine room. The second floor houses a driver’s console, sofas, and tables. Unfortunately, the original Hummer and its later gas-powered versions only live on through enthusiasts as GM discontinued the vehicle in 2010.

Not even Arnold Schwarzenegger could save the Hummer

While the Hollywood action star brought the vehicle to the public, The Hummer had its issues from day one. Throughout its lifespan, various improvements were made to the Hummer, but the issues persisted. The massive size of the vehicle became its first downside. The first Hummers were also underpowered and not as capable as their military versions.

Despite having thirsty gas-guzzling engines, the performance was subpar, probably because of its weight. After the recession hit and oil prices skyrocketed, not even Arnold Schwarzenegger’s star power could save the Hummer. However, Schwarzenegger was also the first to show the way the brand has followed. The 75-year-old was the first person to own an electric hummer. Recently, GM revived the brand as a fully electric vehicle.
