Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s eldest son, Patrick Schwarzenegger ticked off an item off his bucket list. In an exciting recent development, he along with his mother Maria Shriver took their business, MOSH bars to the next level by appearing on Shark Tank’s season 15 finale on 3rd May. While the brain health-boosting protein bar founders tried to keep it a secret, the cat got out of the bag days before their appearance.
“The secret’s out! @patrickschwarzenegger and I are headed to the tank… the Shark Tank,“ Maria Shriver had revealed days earlier. On Friday, 8:00 pm, the mother-son duo appeared on the TV show. A day before their appearance on the show, the two showcased their excitement through a post on MOSH’s official Instagram handle. “TOMORROW IS THE BIG DAY,“ the caption of the post read.
“Will Maria and Patrick blow the Sharks’ minds or leave them with brain fog? Tune in tomorrow,“ they asked fans. Many who didn’t see it coming were ecstatic to watch Shriver and Schwarzenegger make their pitch to the sharks. The MOSH founders asked $500,000 for a 2% stake in their company. After some serious negotiation, they struck a deal with businesswoman Lori Greiner for a $500,000 investment, for 3.5% equity with 1% advisory shares.

Earlier, in an interview with People magazine, Shriver had revealed how being on Shark Tank was one of Patrick’s biggest dreams. “I can tell you that it was [on] Patrick’s bucket list. Ever since that show premiered, ever since he had his own lemonade stand, he’s been watching it religiously. He knows every episode, he knows everything about the show,” she said.
In 2021, Maria Shriver and Patrick Schwarzenegger founded MOSH for a noble cause. The 30-year-old helped his mother build the company after witnessing her unending efforts to raise awareness and research funding for Alzheimer’s. The product was a hit. Yet, since the duo regularly donated part of their profits to Alzheimer’s research, they had to look for investors to expand.
Last year, MOSH raised three million dollars in its first-ever funding round to help them in their retail distribution strategy. However, progress has been slow. According to Shriver, it was her son’s idea to appear on Shark Tank as the 30-year-old actor thought they could attract much more attention to their cause, with the added chance of securing more funding.
The ‘Mind Blowing Variety Pack‘ the duo featured on the show is already on sale on their website. The pack contains three Peanut Butter Chocolate Crunch bars, and two each of the Cookie Dough Crunch, Lemon White Chocolate Crunch, Chocolate Crunch, Peanut Butter Crunch, Blueberry Almond Crunch, and Cookies & Cream Crunch bars.
Patrick’s idea seems to have worked, as the duo not only secured another investor but introduced many people to their mission. This was evident because even people who hadn’t heard of the brand before commented on the Instagram post.
Maria Shriver and her son’s ingenious move impresses fans
While there is little evidence to prove that Alzheimer’s is food-based, many studies suggest that a healthy diet can prevent the disease. According to the National Institute on Aging, “It’s possible that eating a certain diet affects biological mechanisms, such as oxidative stress and inflammation, that underlie Alzheimer’s.
Impressed with this brand an user on Instagram was ready to give it a try. “I had no idea about this brand! I am about to place an order. Serious family history of Alzheimer’s. I personally believe it is food-based,“ wrote the user.
In the interview with PEOPLE, Shriver explained that getting a chance to present their product in front of Shark Tank’s panel of potential investors was not an easy one. After being put through numerous trials, the duo was able to make it to the final show and finally get the necessary investment. Shriver said that it was all down to Patrick’s perseverance.
She noted, “He was determined, and so we got on Shark Tank. So I was so happy, actually, for him. Well, I’m happy for MOSH, but I was so happy for Patrick because it was just such a dream come true for him.”
Many fans seemed excited about the development and congratulated Maria Shriver and Patrick Schwarzenegger. “Congratulations Maria and Patrick for winning with Lori on the Shark Tank,” wrote one fan. Lori Greiner is known for her QVC show Clever & Unique Creations for which she has been called the “Queen of QVC and is the president and founder of For Your Ease Only, Inc.

Another Instagram user couldn’t help but talk about how good MOSH’s products were and wrote, “So excited!!!! You have such a wonderful product!!!” For Shriver, creating such a brand that promoted healthy brain habits was of personal significance.
Her father, Robert Sargent Shriver Jr, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2003 and died of the disease in 2011. She explained, “I’ve spent 20 plus years as an advocate in this space. And I was the first person to write out and report out that women were disproportionately impacted by the disease because we had no research into our brains.”
Shivers also mentioned that she didn’t just want to start a protein bar company but something that has a mission and a purpose and promotes a healthy lifestyle.
