Arnie started the latest edition of his newsletter by stating that while a calorie was indeed a calorie, not all calories were the same. According to him, new research has suggested that the types of food one consumes and individual needs can make it easier to absorb fewer calories and lose more weight. So one does not always need to eat less to lose more calories, but can continue to eat more while still maintaining their calorie count.

Explaining this notion, Arnie quoted a recent study, “People who ate more fiber and less processed foods absorbed approximately 115 fewer calories per day — despite eating the same number of total calories. And some individuals burned up to four times as many calories.” The Austrian Oak further elaborated that the researchers believe this is because of highly processed food that cannot be easily digested. This means that the calories are more prone to sticking to your body. However, less processed foods are easier to break down.

So the main question arises about what carbs an individual should eat. Arnie had an answer to this as well. ““Large particle foods” also can trick your body into working harder and storing less,” he penned.

This was not all. The Austrian Oak also had earlier a better alternative for counting calories.
