Arnold Schwarzenegger and Donald Trump haven’t been friends for a long time now. Evidence of that resurfaced again recently. On November 17th, Schwarzenegger marked the 20th anniversary of his gubernatorial swearing-in, commemorating his victory in the 2003 California recall election against Gray Davis. As part of an event in Sacramento, he gave an interview with reporter Carla Marinucci.

Marinucci, perhaps familiar with his history with the former POTUS, asked him about his views on Donald Trump’s recent controversial comments on political opponents. ‘The Terminator’ had an amusing response.

Last week during a New Hampshire rally, Republican presidential election candidate Donald Trump said he would “root out” the “vermin” among his political opponents if he comes to power. Trump said he would get rid of the “communists, Marxists, fascists and the radical left thugs,” within America during his address. Marinucci asked Schwarzenegger about his thoughts on Trump’s remarks. “Look, I don’t want to comment now on every single stupid thing that he says, otherwise, we would be sitting here for the next eight days,” the former Governor told Marinucci.

While the 76-year-old bodybuilding legend refused to comment, his response had a sarcastic hint. It may be noted here that Schwarzenegger and Trump once had friendly relations. Trump even donated to Schwarzenegger’s re-election campaign but in the past few years, their relationship has soured. So much so that after the infamous capitol riots, Schwarzenegger called Trump a “failed leader” and the “worst president ever.”

While the former Mr. Universe refused to comment, President Joe Biden didn’t shy away from responding to the former POTUS. Biden said Trump’s speech “echos” the language of those in Nazi Germany in the ’30s. However, this isn’t the first time Arnie has responded to a Trump-related question with sarcasm.

Arnie’s fitness ‘tip’ for Donald Trump

The seven-time Mr. Olympia recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote his book Be Useful: Seven Tools of Life. During their conversation, Kimmel asked Arnie about the 77-year-old Trump’s listed weight of 215 lbs. Kimmel felt doubtful about the stat and asked the former bodybuilding champion how much he feels the former POTUS weighs. While Arnie conceded he had no clue how much his fellow Republican weighed, he had some fitness advice. Schwarzenegger said the former president should “run around” himself “three times,” if he wants to be fit.

Arnie’s response drew a torrent of laughter. While Arnold Schwarzenegger has remarked about the political landscape in America, he refuses to address any Trump-related questions directly.
