Three tips for lowering blood pressure

The Austrian Oak shared three tips that might help you lower your blood pressure. The first tip was to try not to judge your thoughts or feelings while you are feeling stressed. According to Arnie, during such situations, one should opt for the role of an observer and “Try to observe what is happening to you objectively.” “Often, it’s not what you feel that causes stress — it’s your own harsh judgment,” he explained.

The second tip from Arnie was to keep reminding oneself that stress is not bad. Studies have found that perceiving stress as harmful can only do more damage to your health. The last tip from the Terminator was taking a ten-minute break when you’re under stress.

Schwarzenegger recommends listening to a guided meditation or silently repeating a word that helps you maintain your cool. Sit back, relax, and let the outside thoughts come through, he says. Furthermore, he wants one to return to the first tip and take on the role of an observer and observe your thoughts without any judgment. Adding on to this, Arnie also delved into the effectiveness of practicing mindfulness.

Mindfulness leads to lower anxiety, says Arnie

Scientists analyzed over twelve studies and measured the mindfulness protocols and the impact of those protocols on human health. They found out that “on average, the mindfulness interventions led to lower anxiety, less perceived stress, fewer symptoms of depression, and improved systolic blood pressure (down 9 mmHg) and diastolic blood pressure (down nearly 6 mmHg).

Research on people suffering from high blood pressure found that their mental health is directly connected with hypertension. Mindfulness practices and meditation are highly effective ways to reduce your stress, which leads to lower blood pressure and increases the longevity of your life. “Research also suggests that people who practice mindfulness are more likely to improve their diet and eat more heart-healthy foods,” wrote Arnie.
