In the video, Arnie disclosed that this misconception is not limited to any one country. He shared, “In some countries where I go, people think that if you’re a bodybuilder, you’re narcissistic because you look in the mirror.” They don’t have an understanding of how things work for bodybuilders.

He highlighted that people only see what’s visible to them; they don’t know about the details. That’s why they think of bodybuilders as narcissists because they see bodybuilders always looking in mirrors and stepping on a scale or measuring their muscles using tape. The Terminator added, “That’s how the preconceptions come up.” Arnie explained that these are the only things through which bodybuilders can keep track of their progress throughout their journey.
The former Hollywood actor not only debunked the narcissist myth, he also addressed another myth. People often worry about getting fat after stopping their workouts. To which Arnie revealed eye-opening facts: “If you train for ten years and stop your workouts, you will fall apart. You know you turn the fat, and that’s obviously wrong because muscles never contend with fat and a lot of preconceptions.“

According to the research shared in his daily newsletter, Arnold’s Pump Club, people with low adherence gain 99% of the fat they lose. The research highlighted that people who follow a protein-rich diet rigidly keep the fat off their bodies. He even shared the potential causes of failure.
‘The Terminator’ highlighted the fact that people lack discipline, they don’t have adequate information about what to eat, and sometimes their eating habits are not in control. He named these as the top three reasons for the failure. The former actor suggests simplifying food choices.
