Less sleep will lead to a bad workout: Arnold Schwarzenegger

In the latest edition of his newsletter, Schwarzenegger talked about how the important thing before a proper intense workout session should be to rest. He pointed towards how sleep should be considered the best pre-workout instead of another supplement. He wrote, “The best pre-workout might not be something you take right before you sleep. A recent review of 77 studies found that a good night’s sleep might be the best way to boost your performance.”

Furthermore, Arnold Schwarzenegger reflected on the fact that sleep deprivation can ultimately lead to poor performance, as per several studies. He also stated, “Any type of workout will be worse when you’re getting less than 6 hours of sleep.” Moreover, Schwarzenegger also shed light on the fact that another study shows that an average person weighs 5 lbs more if they sleep less than 5 hours, compared to a person who sleeps for 7 hours.

This is not the first time that Arnie has talked about the importance of a good night’s sleep. Earlier, he revealed a few tips that can help a person fall asleep and lead a healthier life.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s insights about dealing with sleep deprivation

Arnold Schwarzenegger had previously given a proper solution for those who struggle with sleep deprivation. He talked about how sleeplessness can lead to fatigue as well as a less active physique. He quoted a study that revealed how those who woke up two hours earlier consumed lesser calories, fat and sodium, compared to those who stayed up for over two hours later. That being said, Arnie did have a solution. “If you typically stay up late, try to push your bedtime back by 15 minutes per week. We’re not talking about significant changes. Remember, the results were established by moving sleep back just two hours. And it’s possible that even one hour earlier would lead to benefits,” he wrote.
