Elex Michaelson was appalled by the fact that Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 1984 movie The Terminator, which revolves around destructive artificial intelligence, is now a reality. But Arnie credits the film’s director, James Camron, for envisaging the threat from AI almost four decades back.

 “Jim Cameron did such an unbelievable job that it actually was the most sophisticatedly written movie of that year and for a long time to come because everything that he predicted in this film is becoming a reality, where we now kind of in fear of this self-awareness of the machines,” Schwarzenegger said appreciating the farsightedness of one of his favorite directors. However, the 76-year-old wouldn’t let go of the positive aspects of AI despite the looming threats.

While many refrain from using AI altogether, given the complexities, Schwarzenegger makes most of everything to benefit his fitness village. The Arnold’s Pump Club subscribers requested the bodybuilding icon to start fitness podcasts to help them get their fitness mantras despite a busy schedule. Arnie opted for an AI solution to meet his fans’ appeals.

“With my schedule. I couldn’t possibly read these emails every day… so I trained a machine with about every little detail of my voice,” he said in an Instagram post. However, given the AI threat, Schwarzenegger assured, “The Arnold’s Pump Club-800 is a good machine I trained to help humanity, but I know how to handle it if it turns on us.”
