Bodybuilding legend Arnold Schwarzenegger recently took to his official Instagram account and shared stories promoting his newsletter. In the first story, he puts up a picture of a man sitting by a desk with a pamphlet stuck to it, which states, “Protein is not just for Bodybuilders. Change my mind.”
Under the story, he directed a link for the newsletter for his audience to know how important it is to incorporate protein into your daily diet. In the next story, he used the popular meme of the Simpsons family, and bursting the myth, he gives fans a reality check. He wrote, “Say it, Bart! Protein makes you bulky”.

Well, he did unravel that protein consumption benefits people. He even added that it just does not benefit people who wish to lose weight, but also builds up better blood glucose control and blood lipid profile if you consume it a little more than necessary. He wrote, “It’s worth noting that protein requirements can be even greater if you want to optimize athletic outcomes when you’re eating fewer calories.”
Schwarzenegger also suggests that if you intend to consume protein powder in the lowest amount and prioritize your health, your daily protein intake must be from 1.2 to 1.6 g/kg of your total body weight. This is for people who want to be healthy but do not focus on optimizing muscle growth. However, with the applied research, he suggested that you should still consume 50% more protein.

He finally concluded by bursting the myth about how a lot of people believe too much protein powder can cause kidney problems and other such complications, giving his final verdict. Arnie wrote, “And remember, research suggests that higher-protein diets do not cause kidney problems, so there’s no need to fear that outcome.” His final statement stands that everyone needs to consume a good amount of protein to benefit the body.
