In the realm of sports and fitness, rest and recovery play a crucial role for an athlete to stay injury-free and perform well. For this, people often tend to rely on various methods like contrast therapy, physiotherapy sessions, dry needling, etc. One such therapy that is often relied upon by many professionals these days is stem cell therapy, which uses stem cells to repair and rejuvenate damaged cells, tissues, or organs in the body.

Arm wrestling legend Devon Larratt is one such individual who recently got himself a stem cell treatment. The Canadian arm wrestler, who is also a proud member of the Canadian armed forces, shared his experience in an Instagram reel shared by him as well as the clinic.

Despite the therapy being believed to be effective, it is surrounded by a lot of controversy and criticism. Even though it is legal in the United States, it remains ethically and politically controversial because it involves the destruction of human embryos to extract stem cells. Moreover, the treatment is really expensive as well. During his time at the clinic, the arm wrestling legend was himself expecting a little pain as a result of 17 trillion cells being injected during the procedure and stated, “I need something to bite.” However, in the end, he revealed, “no pain whatsoever, no sharpness.”

The caption of the post by Palm Beach Stem Cell Clinic read, “We had the pleasure of treating World Champ @devlarratt for his latest Stem Cell therapy. We injected stem cell (17 trillion cells to be exact) directly to his problem areas : elbow, brach, and wrist.”

Larratt is not the only one who went through the treatment. During episode number 1489 of the Joe Rogan Experience, eight times Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman also shared how effective and helpful stem cell therapy has been for him. So much so that he believes that it can help him get rid of the wheelchair one day.

Ronnie Coleman seems hopeful of getting out of the wheelchair

Last year, during an episode of his series ‘Ask Me Anything,’ Ronnie Coleman was asked by one of the fans about the progress that he had made over the years, and whether would he ever be able to walk. Ronnie answered, “I’m working real hard on that. … Right now, I’m going to Mexico every four months, getting these stem cells treatments.”

Ronnie continued, “They are working out real good.” However, the former champion bodybuilder couldn’t say exactly how long it’ll take to get back on his feet. He added, “So, when will I walk without a chair? Only time will tell, but hopefully soon and very soon!”
