Bodybuilding veteran and fitness influencer Mike O’Hearn is back in the gym after completing the shooting of his new movie. The Titan, who often gives out valuable insights to his fans has now come up with some wisdom on high-rep finishers.
The four-time Mr. Universe has a program where you can train with him at the Gold’s gym. The former powerlifter had an arms day with one of his followers, and they both trained triceps, doing the most gruesome triceps exercise. The Titan recorded the exercise, uploaded it to his YouTube channel, and shared what approach he follows. Let’s find out if the Titan thinks high rep sets are a good idea or not.

The former powerlifter was in favor of doing a high rep set and said, “Yeah, I think people get carried away sometimes, and it’s fine; at least connect to it, understand it.” The four-time Mr. Universe and one of his followers did the dumbbell skull crushers as their exercise to hit the triceps. They did a set of twenty reps and seemed satisfied with the outcome.
A set is considered a high-rep set only if you’re doing more than twelve reps. Doing high-rep sets has many benefits for your body as it helps you build more muscles and strength for the connecting tissues. If you’re taking light weights and doing high reps, your heart and lungs will feel the benefits.

The Titan, on the other hand, loved the workout they engaged in and said, “I got to be honest, man, there’s nothing like training with somebody that has a wrestling mentality because they know what it’s like to save nothing for the swim back.” The former powerlifter found doing high reps in the last set “beautiful,” showcasing his preference for the same. Earlier this year, the Titan had shared his favorite triceps movement for bigger arms.
O’Hearn’s favorite triceps movement
The 55-year-old former powerlifter shared an Instagram post in which he used bench press equipment to perform a versatile exercise. Unlike following the traditional bench press approach, he maneuvered the barbell to his head level. The former Mr. California bent his arm so that he could make the triceps feel all the tension and force.

O’Hearn performed the reps slowly, focusing on his form. He captioned the post, “Always be smart and take your time with exercising. For me, this exercise still works on my core foundation of connective tissue to keep it strong and healthy.” The four-time Mr. Universe mentions this variation of skull crushers as his favorite exercise, doing “either reverse grip or close grip to really fill out those triceps.“
