People’s champ Kai Greene challenged Phil Heath to one last showdown at the 2024 Mr. Olympia. Once-bitter rivals from the great rivalry of their era, but Greene couldn’t beat the seven-time Mr. Olympia. However, Kai Greene didn’t tag The Gift, which might sound odd. Yet, the post that Greene commented on was even more odd than his comment.
Jay Cutler’s on-stage rival, Victor Martinez, took to social media and made a bombastic claim. The 2007 Mr. Olympia runner-up claimed he would rematch the man who beat him to the title that year. Martinez congratulated Jay Cutler for his lifetime achievement award at the Arnold Classic 2024 and said he and Cutler would compete at this year’s Mr. Olympia.
However, the timing seemed off. In fact, the whole callout was an April Fools prank. Kai Greene’s callout wasn’t serious either. “This could have been us Phillip,” wrote Greene. Besides addressing Phil Heath as Phillip, Greene didn’t tag his old rival like he has done in the past. However, like Jay Cutler and Victor Martinez, The Gif and The Predator could not fool any bodybuilding fan.

Some might think The Dominican Dominator and Cutler plan to return to the stage at this year’s Masters Olympia. Last year, the Masters Olympia competition returned after a hiatus. Jay Cutler, who has been busy with the Fit at 50 challenge, was rumored to compete last year. However, the fact that Martinez mentioned the Mr. Olympia gave it all away.
Similarly, Heath and Greene haven’t competed for years. Yet, they still maintain a shredded and muscular physique. Every year, rumors about Phil Heath or Kai Greene returning to competition seem to circulate, but for good reason. Greene and Heath look one serious prep away from a stage-ready physique, but do they really plan to return to the stage?

Phil Heath and Kai Greene give fans some hope of a return
Phil Heath addressed a wave of comeback rumors last year in January. The bodybuilding champion said he hadn’t ruled out the possibility. “Hey look, all I gotta do is train for three months and see what happens. If I like what I see… then we’ll see,” Heath said on the Cutlercast. Yet, he didn’t return last year. Shortly afterward, Kai Greene also addressed similar rumors.
Kai Greene appeared for an interview with Muscular Development in March 2023. The three-time Arnold Classic winner also gave bodybuilding fans some hope. “I would never want to say never, I never officially retired, and you never know,” said Greene. However, like his arch-rival, The Predator didn’t return to the bodybuilding stage.

While the chances of seeing another Phil Heath vs. Kai Greene showdown still exist, they don’t seem serious about it. At least for now.
