Following in the footsteps of his father, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Baena is deep into fitness and bodybuilding as well. 

Learning from the best, Baena realizes the importance of regular cardio. As the writer’s strike ended recently, Baena could still be seen on his cycle, getting his daily cardio done.

Aspiring to be a Hollywood legend like his father, Joseph Baena, an actor, and a fitness freak, has already managed to win a lot of hearts with his acting as well as his resemblance to his father. Baena maintains an active social media profile and frequently shares the ongoings of his life with his fans and followers. While his aesthetic physique often takes fans back and reminds them of Arnold, Baena prefers cycling as his cardio to keep him in shape. In his recent Instagram story, Baena posted another picture while riding his bike.

The story was uploaded just moments after the Writers Guild of America decided to lift the strike after 148 days. The DWTS star’s Instagram story came just a while after Arnold revealed the struggles he faced during his second heart surgery. In order to keep his heart health in check, Baena ensures that he performs regular cardio. But what exactly happened with Arnold during his heart operation in 1997? Let’s take a look.

Arnold Schwarzenegger explains the slump he was in

Contrary to what most people would believe, Arnold’s heart problems were in no way related to his bodybuilding career. He was born with a heart defect called aortic stenosis, which causes the heart to pump harder than usual to get blood through the aortic valve. In order to get this sorted, the doctor explained to Schwarzenegger that there are two ways to operate it. The first way would be easier, but it would mean that he wouldn’t be able to do any physically challenging tasks in the future. The second option would allow him to lift, do stunts, or do anything that he desires. But it only has a 60 percent success rate.

Arnold, being Arnold, opted for it nonetheless, as he wanted to continue his Hollywood ventures as well as lift weights for the rest of his life. Concluding the incident, he wrote, “Big risk, big reward. That made sense to me. “It’s fine,” I said. “I’ll take the risk.”
