The bodybuilding icon Jay Cutler has many championships to his name. But Cutler will be forever known as the man who put an end to Ronnie Coleman’s winning streak. 4x Times Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler will be 50 years old this year. And so the bodybuilding legend has started a ‘Fit for 50′ transformation challenge. Cutler wants to look his best at 50, despite retiring from the sport in 2013. 

The beast has removed all stops from his training session and is almost seven weeks out in his body transformation challenge. Recently, Cutler took to social media to update on the progress he has made so far.

Jay Cutler has always been afraid of losing this muscle

In a recent YouTube post, the retired IFFB pro treated fans with a training and posing session. He let out details on his ‘Fit for 50’ transformations. Sharing his training schedule, the bodybuilder pro said: “This is the beginning of my cycle week, so normally I start off on chest day, I do arms, and then I do shoulders, and I take a day off, then I do back and legs, and then I usually take another day off so I am working on a three on one-off, two on one- off schedule right now.”

In the video further, he shared that his problem area is his calves. Cutler has worked very hard on his calves during his Mr. Olympia days. Post-retirement, he has made it a point to keep working on them. He shared his insecurity with his fans. The athlete told his follower: “Everyone has trouble building their calves, even I have trouble building calves, so I always try to prioritize, so I am going to do calves training”. He added, “I have always been afraid of losing my calves…I gotta at least hang on to my calves when I retire”.

To the surprise of his followers, the bodybuilding pro showed a black wall with signatures of IFFB pro Ronnie Coleman and YouTuber Jesse James West. Ronnie Coleman was referred to his 8 x Mr. Olympia wins, to which Cutler remarked: “Me and Ronnie signed it at the same time, of course, Ronnie had to put 8 times” while “Jesse James West put zero, Mr. Olympia. A friendly banter of sorts on the gym wall. On a serious note, four times winner said that he is not being very strict with himself in terms of diet. He has to make some changes to his nutrition.

Bodybuilding pro Jay Cutler is unhappy with his regime

The bodybuilding pro will showcase his physique on 3rd August 2023. He is pushing himself to reach his goal. In the video, some exercises he did include incline hammer, flex piece, dumbbell presses, and cable flies. He trained his calves with leg presses, standing calves, and seated calves. Despite training so hard, Cutler is not satisfied with the progress. He said: “I want to be 250. I am about 245”. He also gave reasons for not achieving the desired physique in the seventh week. Consistency and nutrition were reasons for his lag.
