Renowned IFBB Pro Stan Efferding holds the distinction of being the world’s strongest bodybuilder. He is also one of the few men who have totaled 2,300 lbs in a raw powerlifting contest. Now Efferding uses his years of experience to advise other strength athletes on nutrition, training technique, and more. Besides bodybuilders and powerlifters, Efferding has also worked with strongman athletes.

On August 11, former Mr. Universe Milos Sarcev shared a sneak peek at the upcoming episode of The Menace Podcast featuring Efferding. Sarcev, along with Dennis James and Chris Cormier. While the episode will go live on Sunday, Sarcev posted a clip from the upcoming episode where Stan Efferding made a startling revelation about the health of some of the 300+ lbs strongman giants.

In the clip that Milos Sarcev uploaded on Instagram, the three hosts listened to what Efferding had to say with rapt attention. “Educational hour at the Oldschool Podcast – coming This Sunday!” Sarcev wrote in the caption. “You have to tune in to hear what Stan had to say…as @bigdjames (Dennis James) said: If Stan talks – we should all listen,” added the bodybuilding coach.

In the clip, Stan Efferding spoke about strongman athletes and the fact that their health isn’t optimal. Efferding named three strongmen, two of whom were former World’s Strongest Man winners. “The Big Rock, Hafthor, Brian Shaw… all of them had some degree of metabolic syndrome,” explained the powerlifter. “All of them have it because of their weight,” added Efferding.

The IFBB Pro then listed some of the suboptimal health conditions world champion strongmen like Shaw and Bjornsson had. “They all had a little fatty liver… some insulin resistance. They all have slightly elevated blood pressure and blood sugar,” Efferding said. However, that is where the clip ended as fans would have to wait till 12 pm PST before the full episode goes live. However, Efferding isn’t the only one who pointed out such things, the athletes themselves have talked about their health.
