Despite facing a stiff right jab in the first round of the highly anticipated unification bout, Terence Crawford proved his superior boxing skills against the opponent Errol Spence. The twin marks Crawford as the undisputed champion with 4 major titles under his name. The 35-year-old boxing prodigy packed a hard punch for the equally talented Spence. Harvey Dock, the referee, intervened amidst a knockout in the 9th round. The second and seventh rounds also saw Spence stumbling in the boxing ring. 

Saturday night solidified Crawford’s position as the undisputed Welterweight Champion. The match generated a buzz in various sporting disciplines. Even Strongman Champion and bodybuilding giant Hafthor Bjornsson could not keep away from the frenzy of the battle ring.

Earlier, taking to Twitter, the Mountain jumped on the boxing mania by posting, “Who you got? #SpenceCrawford,” a top trending word for the night. The match drew responses from all over the world because of the unmatched raw talent of both competitors. However, Crawford reigned supreme, clear as day. 

In the post-fight press conference, the undisputed two divisions shunned the naysayers. “So for all you guys that doubted me, for all you guys that said I was too small, I was actually too strong, and now everybody you know I mean they get to witness greatness like I said before and it’s the Terence Crawford era,” added the jubilant victor. It is great to see the sporting event become such a gigantic crowd-puller, getting even the Icelandic Strongman excited. Hafthor is not new to the boxing arena. In the battle of the Giants, Hafthor won against Strongman Eddie Hall. However, the delayed match failed to generate much interest among fans.

The boxing stint of the Mountain failed to attract the crowd

Earlier, in a podcast, Nick Trigili, Sameer Bannout, and John Hansen discussed the match held in 2022. The IFBB pro, Trigili, opined that the match failed to garner attention because of the delays caused by injuries. He added, “No one bought tickets, no one bought the pay-per-view, no one cared.

 Moreover, they speculated on the reason for Thor joining the match. “I think he was chasing money though, the reason he went to boxing. I think he was guaranteed a huge payday with the Eddie Hall fight, and that ended up being a big disaster.” To sum up, let the bygone be bygones.
