In his latest edition, he discusses the key principles for experiencing a joyful aging process.

Arnold Schwarzenegger shares the importance of having friends

In his newsletter, Arnold’s Pump Club this week, Arnold Schwarzenegger, posted about the importance of having a good set of friends in life. He called it –‘The Social Network (That Matters).’ He begins the Newsletter by saying, “You don’t just get by with a little help from your friends — you might also live longer, too.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger goes on to say how it is as important to have good friends to lead a healthy life as it is to exercise. Good friends make it easier to develop healthy habits and help you from getting into isolation. He even states that he completely relies on his friends to ride with him to the gym.

The Austrian Oak, speaking about the importance of having a healthy social cycle, says, “Researchers from three universities studied the impact of social isolation and unhappiness and found that loneliness ages a person faster than smoking.” Well, on the contrary side, there are different types of friends inheriting different habits. It further lies on you to decide which ones to inherit. Schwarzenegger shared a great bond with a comedian, Tommy Chong. He even had a negative experience too, and he decided to prioritize other things over it.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was once very tight with the comedian Tommy Chong. They first met in the 70s and became gym buddies and very extremely good friends. They both had big dreams when they met on Venice Beach, working on the outside, wanting to be stars, and daydreaming about the best bodybuilders. Overall, they had a great time, Tommy Chong being stoned all the time.

Arnold Schwarzenegger got caught up with him, and together, the two would go to his friend’s house to smoke pot and Chong taught him to workout is high. He said although he enjoyed that approach, he could not afford to stay like that forever, for he had other important things to focus on.
