Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger’s iconic role as Mr. Freeze in the $160 million budgeted film Batman & Robin is once again under the spotlight after the weapon used by the character is reported to be re-invented to tackle technological hurdles in the aeronautical and spacecraft industry. Probably nothing is cooler than a superhero or villain’s gadget getting a reality twist.

News surfaced that the U.S. Military is willing to invest in new freezing technology for transformative purposes, per Fandom Wire. Much like what Arnie had used in his villain character, scientists are devising the technology based on a grand $750,000 budget. 

Mr. Freeze’s power gets real and resourceful

As per the publication, a professor from the University of Virginia and his team of scientists have envisioned the idea of crafting a freeze gun like that of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character in the 1997 film. However, unlike the supervillain, the technology will not be utilized for weaponry. 

The machinery is the brainchild of Patrick Hopkins, a professor, and scientist in mechanical and aerospace engineering. He visualized the mechanism that shall be pioneering in the cooling systems technology. It shall be greatly resourceful for maintaining the electronics in spacecraft and high-altitude aircraft, as revealed by Fandom Wire

The professor said, “That’s the primary problem right now. A lot of electronics on board heat up, but they have no way to cool down.” The problems of overheating in electronics devised it as a necessity to bring such an innovation into existence. Likewise, the U.S. Air Force has shown instant interest in the technology and is willing to invest in it. Arnold Schwarzenegger threatened his makeup artist

Mr. Freeze’s make-up artist, Jeff Dawn, once appeared in an interview to recall a hilarious incident on the movie sets. Arnold, set to play Mr. Freeze had given his word to go bald to portray the villain. However, on the day of getting shaved, the actor backed out.

Dawn still tried a last attempt and switched on the trimmer, moving towards him. Meanwhile, Arnold stood in front of him and dared him to cut his hair. “I’m looking at Arnold. He’s looking at me with this big sh*t-grin smile, like, ‘Jeff, go ahead! I dare you,” the artist recounted. They decided to use the bald cap instead, which amounted to 1.5 hours of wearing the cap every day.
