For two years in a row, Egyptian bodybuilder Big Ramy ruled the bodybuilding world. In 2020 and 2021, the mass monster clinched the Mr. Olympia title against his rival, Hadi Choopan. Going into the 2022 Mr. Olympia, Ramy’s physique updates before the final prep convinced many that he would grab a third title. However, on the day of the contest, everything went wrong for the defending champion.
Several aspects of the champion’s physique looked diminished, and Ramy ended up in fifth place. While the Egyptian mass monster improved his physique, he placed 4th at the Arnold Classic 2023. Since then, he has been out of the limelight. However, as the 2023 Mr. Olympia approaches, Ramy has shared a throwback image. Could it mark his probable return?

When a bodybuilder wins the Mr. Olympia, they qualify to compete in the most prestigious show in bodybuilding for life. The former champion seems to be taking advantage of the privilege to make a course correction. Instead of competing in international pro shows, Ramy has stayed out of the limelight and looked to improve his shortcomings.
The image Big Ramy shared on his Instagram story was a collage. The collage contains four pictures of Ramy in four different poses. Going clockwise, the top two images were of the front and back lat spread. The third photograph was a back shot, while the last was Ramy hitting a side chest pose. All the images were from the 2014 Mr. Olympia, where Ramy wore No. 13 trunks.

While Elssbiay expressed he needs “to give everything” during a July interview with Dennis James, the bodybuilding world is waiting for an update. However, people are hopeful as Ramy responded well to stem cell therapy.
Stem cell therapy helped the bodybuilding icon
After his disappointing loss at the 2022 Mr. Olympia, Mamdouh Elssbiay tried stem cell therapy. While he had only 2 months between the 2022 Mr. Olympia and the 2023 Arnold Classic, Ramy showed significant improvements. The deformations in his quads and glutes disappeared. The diminished triceps and lower lats also improved.
