Arnold Schwarzenegger may claim to be “a small government guy,” but he is determined to cut through the noise. Hollywood actor Morgan Freeman has also joined his village in supporting a Californian government bill that aims to stop the manufacture, sale, or distribution of America’s most popular snacks containing cancer-causing ingredients.

Since the start of 2023, Arnold Schwarzenegger has been helping people by throwing hard truths and myths about nutrition and health through his newsletter,?Arnold’s Pump Club. For instance, The bodybuilding icon has been a staunch advocate against engineered or ultra-processed foods. Coincidentally, the bill now lists snacks that contain chemicals that have been banned for use in cosmetics since 1990!?

Skittles contains a food additive called Titanium Dioxide, which is banned in several European countries but is still actively used in The United States. Titanium Dioxide is a white pigment compound that’s used to make products like Skittles look brighter and more colorful.

Arnold Schwarzenegger further talked about another harmful food additive, Red Dye 3, which is prohibited from lipsticks but is still used in foods. “One of those is banned in the United States already, just not for food- it?s illegal to use red dye 3 in makeup.?So, you can?t put it on your face but you can put it in your mouth. Does that make sense to anyone?”?wrote the Governator.?

The Terminator actor also said,?“So, I?m proud of Assemblyman Jessie Gabriel for writing this bill, and for all of you who asked, I?m happy to support it.”?While Morgan Freeman?also?showed his support for Arnold Schwarzenegger by sharing his views, an image from his newsletter, with a caption through his Instagram.

Morgan Freeman shows support for California Assembly Bill 418

Oscar-winning actor Morgan Freeman shared a snippet of this newsletter on Instagram. He supported Schwarzenegger?s opinion on the bill and wrote, “Join us in supporting California Assembly Bill 418. @schwarzenegger has delved into the details of the California bill making headlines for its efforts to ban certain food additives.?Swipe to read more.”

Morgan Freeman emphasized that it was not a ban on Skittles but on the ingredients used inside the food while applauding Jessie Gabriel’s effort. He wrote, “This is NOT a ban on Skittles. I commend Assemblyman Jesse Gabriel (@asmjessegabriel) for championing this bill, and I’m proud to lend my support to this cause.”
