A handful of bodybuilders like Arnold Schwarzenegger have transcended the sport of bodybuilding in terms of sheer popularity. Four-time Classic Physique Mr. Olympia winner Chris Bumstead is among those who wh have gained worldwide popularity through bodybuilding. With well over 20 million followers across social media, Bumstead has outpaced legends like Ronnie Coleman.

Fans love Bumstead for his down-to-earth persona. Despite having a lisp, Bumstead has embraced the speech detriment and uses it to market his supplement brand, all the while raising awareness. However, Instagram might not share the same ideology as Bumstead’s recent video got deleted from the platform.

Chris Bumstead is baffled but not deterred

Earlier, the four-time Classic Physique champion uploaded a video to promote the imminent launch of his pre-workout. Bumstead has named the product the Thuper Thavage Pre-workout. Since the modern-day bodybuilding icon has trouble pronouncing super, he pronounces it as thuper. Since Bumstead is launching the more potent version of his popular Thavage Pre-workout, instead of naming it Super, he named it Thuper Thavage Per-Workout.

However, Instagram misinterpreted Bumstead’s intention and identified the use of the term as problematic.?So, the four-time champion uploaded another video on his Instagram story to set the record straight.?“What’s going on guys? For some reason, Instagram deleted our explanation of Thuper Thavage because they said it with hate speech,” the Canadian explained in his story.

“I don’t know why? Maybe they thought we were making fun of lisp, but we’re actually supporting lisp,”?added Bumstead before showing the product on screen. He then read out the ingredients list and explained how the Thuper Thavage differed from the previous version. This is also the first time Bumstead has faced such an issue while promoting his supplement on Instagram. However, the Thavage branding is nothing new.

The bodybuilding icon is expanding his brand

While bodybuilding has earned the Canadian bodybuilder immense fame, he has decided to use that fame to expand his brand. Despite winning the Classic Physique title four times, the prize money Bumstead earned pales in comparison to the prize money open bodybuilders earn. Hence Bumstead continues to grow his brand.

The bodybuilding icons produced his Thavage line of supplements, including pre-workout, whey protein, etc. with Raw Nutrition.
