Bodybuilding icon Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son once revealed that his father does not own a phone, despite living in the 21st century. The athlete actively avoids relying on smartphone technology because of his own reasons. However, this came as a shocker to the world and to his own son as well. Therefore, addressing the matter in a fresh interview, the Hollywood A-lister cleared the air on his communication preferences. 

Arnie opened up about his dislike for phone calls and claimed he’d rather FaceTime whoever wants to call him. Speaking to his close ones on the phone seemed like an alienated idea for the star. 

Arnold Schwarzenegger is not a phone-call person

After Arnie’s 29-year-old son Patrick Schwarzenegger, was asked which of his parents texts him more, he ended up disclosing that his father doesn’t even own a phone. Hence, he refuses to text. The only technology he seems to use to communicate is FaceTime on his iPad. Iterating the same, the 75-year-old icon recently reasoned why. 

“I don’t have a phone. Why would I have a phone? I have an iPad,” The Terminator star said in a candid chat with CBS News. The host teased the conversation by recalling that one of his sons “ratted” him out on his ‘no phone’ idea. Shocked, the host asked for confirmation on the matter.

Not disagreeing, Arnie opined, “I don’t want to take a phone call and not see the people’s faces. I want to see them on FaceTime.” Moreover, the Austrian athlete strongly denied when asked if he simply likes talking on the phone. Interestingly, his son had hilarious speculations about this aspect of his father’s persona. 

Patrick spilled the beans on Arnold Schwarzenegger’s high-tech secret

Last year, the Staircase actor appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and discussed a range of topics about his life. Therefore, after he was asked about his parents’ texting habits, Patrick spilled the tea on his father not possessing a smartphone. “My dad doesn’t have a phone. He refuses to text. He only uses his iPad and face time,” he said. 

Furthermore, the star kid also revealed that his father does own a flip phone, that he often uses in his car. Besides, he got all the numbers on his speed dial, memorized. Attempting to justify his father’s habit, Patrick jokingly added that his thumbs were probably too big to use the phone.
