First published in 1951, Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night is written by the poet for his father who was a strong militant in his youth but lost his eyesight in his eighties. The poet calls out to his father to not give up without a fight.

Addressing the conflict in Israel-Palestine, Johnson said he was “heartbroken”. His post ended with “I pray for compassion and resolve. I pray for all innocent lives.”
