Arnold Schwarzenegger is a living legend in the sport of bodybuilding. One of the most charismatic bodybuilders to ever grace the Mr. Olympia stage, Schwarzenegger, uplifted the sport. The crowd favorite appeared on television, radio, and interviews to clear misconceptions about his sport. However, Schwarzenegger showed no mercy to his rivals. From trying to outwork them to playing mind games, the champion used all the tools in his arsenal.
The Austrian Oak also used humor to throw his opponents off guard. In Pumping Iron (1977) Schwarzenegger admitted to giving his best friend, fellow bodybuilder Franco Columbu, “the wrong advises,” before a contest. Decades later, he did something similar to his arch-rival son. It was a joke Sergio Oliva Jr. remembers taking it seriously. Interestingly, the bodybuilder he mentioned in his latest post also once complained about Arnie.

Just like Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 25-year-old son took up bodybuilding, Sergio Oliva Jr. followed in his father’s footsteps. While Joseph Baena won’t compete like his father, Sergio Oliva Jr. turned pro and hopes to win the Olympia. So far, a significant achievement for Sergio Oliva Jr. was winning the best poster award at the Arnold Classic.
The son of Arnie’s arch-rival has met him several times, and the two share an amicable relationship. Hence, Arnie once played a small prank on Oliva Jr. The bodybuilder recently posted a side-by-side comparison image of himself. In the caption, he wrote the 76-year-old told him he had a “new posing routine from America. He told me the new thing is to scream while posing.”
While Schwarzenegger was joking, Olive Jr. took it seriously and screamed while hitting the most muscular pose. While Sergio Oliva Jr. faced many challenges this year, he worked hard in the gym. During a leg training session, he filmed himself performing an intense set of leg extensions on his left leg. “Trying to make Uncle Platz proud,” Olive Jr. wrote while posting on Instagram.

Known for his intense leg days, Tom ‘Quadfather’ Platz arguably had the best legs in bodybuilding history. Interestingly, Platz complained about Arnold Schwarzenegger giving away some crucial information to judges in 1982. So what did Arnold Schwarzenegger tell the judges?
Tom Platz told the former Mr. Olympia a secret
Tom Platz respects Arnold Schwarzenegger. From the first day they met, Platz found it easy to share things with the bodybuilding legend. An icon in his own right, Platz met Arnie at the 1982 Mr. Olympia in London. While Platz was in good shape, he had torn his biceps from the bone. By the time the Olympia happened, he hadn’t fully healed.

However, Platz was confident he could hide it. “I made the mistake of telling someone. I told Arnold,” said the Quadfather. While talking to a judge, Arnie revealed Platz’s secret, and subsequently, all the judges found out. During the posing, the judges became keen on his bicep poses. Platz placed 6th at that year’s Mr. Olympia.
