Mark ‘The Machine’ Lobliner is a bodybuilding veteran who competed in the NPC before earning his IFBB pro card. On May 2, the bodybuilder tweeted about how the sport has changed over the years. “I’m a fan of old-school bodybuilding but we have evolved,” he wrote. The bodybuilder said he didn’t have a preferred era but that pros today are ahead of even legends like Dorian Yates and Arnold Schwarzenegger

Lobliner also tagged Phil Health, recalling how Heath got “attacked” for pointing out what in his opinion was the weakest body part of Schwarzenegger. Heath was quick to respond to Lobliner.

Lobliner believes that pros today outshine even the best-conditioned bodybuilders from the early 90s. “Every Olympia competitor has shredded glutes, even the last place guy,” wrote Lobliner. “Back in the 90s even Dorian (Yates) didn’t have glute striations,” he wrote. Yates, who has won six Mr. Olympia started the mass monster era and took conditioning to a new level.

“I remember when @PHILHEATH got attacked for saying Arnold had no legs,” said the former boxer. “I defended Phil. Arnold would look like he’s riding a chicken next to today’s pros!” wrote the millionaire bodybuilder and entrepreneur. “There is no superior era, but I like where it’s going now with the small waists and insane conditioning!” he stated.

However, Mark Lobliner did not mean any disrespect for the legends who made the sport what it is today. Instead, he pointed out how modern bodybuilders are ahead of those who came before, him. Phil Heath also echoed the same sentiment in his response.

Ronnie Coleman’s confidence in Arnold Schwarzenegger

In December 2019, in an interview with Patrick Bet-David, Ronnie Coleman gave his opinion on Arnold Schwarzenegger. Instead of comparing Arnie and the modern era, David asked how Schwarzenegger would fare if he had a nutritionist like Chad Nichols. “By far the best bodybuilding ever, nobody’s touching him,” said the eight-time Mr. Olympia.

“He got the biggest chest ever. Nobody got that even today,” said The King. Coleman even said Schwarzenegger with modern-day nutrition and technology would be “by far the best thing ever put out on stage.” What do you think? Do you agree with Ronnie Coleman or Mark Lobliner?
